But as they say work before play Eila Let_s get to itAngie_s just putting the finishing touches on today_s bulletins so we_ll first check in with Madison Banes who_s going Naked At The Movies She has our picks of the week for you right now It_s Robert De Niro as you_ve never seen him before in the new raunchy comedy Dirty Grandpa. De Niro plays the title role a recent widower who wants to relive his youth before it_s too late. That_s where grandson Jason comes in. It_s the classic odd couple match-up but about TEN TIMES filthier As the movie progresses we discover that Grandpa_s crude approach is really about living life to the fullest. And although his grandson can be uptight he_s a reminder that cheap thrills are no match for friends and family. If you_ve seen Meet the Parents then you know De Niro can do funny but can he do gross-out comedy? There are some definite cringe-worthy moments but the jokes come so fast and loose that by the time it_s over you_ll wish YOU had a grandparent that cool too. Dirty Grandpa is in theaters now. Out on Blu-ray this week Everest is the true life story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. On an already overcrowded trail two separate teams of climbers get caught up in a surprise storm. The movie charts their dramatic efforts to survive in one of the most inhospitable locations on the planet. This one is worth a watch for the vertigo-inducing cinematography alone. Also out on Blu-ray is Straight Outta Compton. It_s a story of survival too but this one starts out on the mean streets of Los Angeles. The biopic covers the rise and demise of pioneering rap legends NWA. Their music gave a voice to a group of people who had never had one before and helped to grow a sound that dominates modern music today. You don_t have to be a rap fan to appreciate this one. There_s a lot of controversy surrounding this movie from lawsuits about how certain people were portrayed to an Oscar snub but all that aside Straight Outta Compton is pure entertainment.
