The move couldn_t come at a better time - it_s estimated that governments lose up to 240 BILLION dollars in tax revenue each YEAR due to tax avoidance. The cliche of stashing your cash in a Swiss bank account to avoid detection is no more 80 banks in Switzerland have agreed to pay the US government 1 point 3 billion dollars in fines for hiding US funds in offshore accounts. The penalties relate to more than 34 thousand accounts holding upwards of 48 BILLION dollars. As part of the deal the banks will avoid prosecution in exchange for cooperating with any future criminal proceedings against the account holders. And investors are giving Facebook_s latest financial report a big LIKE The tech giant announced a profit of 1 point 6 BILLION in the last 3 months of 2015 more than double the same period last year. Most of that money is coming from MOBILE ads which now make up 80 percent of Facebook_s earnings.
