We_re going to catch up with Lucy a little later. First up SHOCKING layoffs for a major tech company Here_s Madison Banes with a Naked News Bulletin. Isabella Intel - the world_s leading maker of computer chips - is cutting its workforce by 11 PERCENT That works out to about 12 thousand positions that are expected to be eliminated as part of the restructuring. Intel has struggled in recent years as sales of personal computers have continued to decline. The company plans to shift its focus to making parts for cloud computing internet-connected gadgets and drones. The introduction of chip-enabled debit and credit cards to the US market is already paying off Retailers accepting the new payment method reported a drop of up to 18 PERCENT in counterfeit transactions in the last quarter of 2015. Meanwhile merchants WITHOUT the technology saw an 11 percent INCREASE in fraud. The chip-embedded cards are generally considered a more secure form of payment because they generate a unique code for each transaction. And the governor of Michigan has accepted a challenge from a reporter to drink filtered tap water from Flint for the next 30 days Governor Rick Snyder says he and his wife will use the water for drinking and cooking for a MONTH to prove it_s safe. Recent government and independent testing ruled the supply SAFE to consume so long as its filtered but many residents remain skeptical. Next week marks TWO YEARS since the city switched its supply to the Flint River. Isabella Wednesday saw the first CRIMINAL charges filed relating to the crisis. Two state regulators and a Flint city employee have been charged with evidence tampering as well as several other felony and misdemeanor counts.
