How_s that for an exclusive club? Also in NASCAR drivers have formed a small council that will meet with the officials to help make the sport better. Denny Hamlin Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are among the handful of racers taking part in the new group. They met for the first time over the weekend to talk about a number of issues including safety. Hamlin says it_s the first time drivers have ever had an open line to NASCAR_s powers that be. Drivers and officials plan to meet again later this season.The Stanley Cup Final matchup is set The Tampa Bay Lightning will take on the Chicago Blackhawks. Both teams won dramatic game 7_s to advance over the weekend. The finals matchup promises plenty of firepower. Tampa and Chicago are absolutely loaded with stars and both teams play at a breakneck pace that should dazzle fans. The Lightning are young and talented but THIS anchor thinks Chicago_s experience wins out. Arsenal couldn_t catch Chelsea in the English Premier League standings this season finishing third but things are looking up for their chances NEXT year. And baseball fans got some disappointing news this weekend. Bryce Harper - arguably the sport_s best hitter so far this season - says he probably WON_T participate in this year_s Home Run Derby. The 22-year old is having an MVP caliber year and is tied for the league lead with 18 homers. The reason he_s sitting out? His dad Ron has a shoulder injury and is the only person Bryce wants pitching to him at the Derby. After 15 seasons crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is set to go out with a two-hour TV movie event. Airing on September 27th the film will bring back original cast members William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger. Crime fans can stay calm though as it_s not the end for the CSI franchise. A spinoff CSI: Cyber has been given a second season order through to 2017.HBO is giving Amy Schumer her very first Comedy Special. Not only that but the hilarious Chris Rock has signed on to direct Amy in a broadcast to be filmed at the legendary New York Apollo Theater later this month. The only car even close to him belonged to his teammate Hamilton and Nico Rosberg took the first two spots for Mercedes and both padded their comfy leads in the F1 driver standings. It was an emotional win on the NASCAR track for Martin Truex Jr. He_d led the most laps in the last three races but had come up empty. That all changed Sunday at Pocono Raceway. Truex took the checkered flag and then had an emotional celebration in Victory Lane with his girlfriend who_s been fighting cancer. Truex was mobbed by rival drivers who wanted to congratulate him on the win which he says was easily the biggest of his career.And the 37-year wait is over On Saturday American Pharoah accomplished one of the rarest feats in sports: winning horse racing_s Triple Crown American Pharoah went wire-to-wire in front of a roaring crowd in the Belmont Stakes. And Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak will NOT face corruption charges over a cash gift from the Saudi royal family. The country_s attorney general has ruled that the 681 MILLION dollar payment was not a bribe and that it was a private matter between the two parties. The embattled prime minister has faced numerous allegations of misappropriating state funds in recent years and opposition leaders have already condemned the decision. Economists are pointing the finger at a shortage of skilled workers especially those with experience in trades like electrical and plumbing.And there_s at least one person who WON_T be looking for a new job anytime soon-Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The tech boss has been handed 199 million dollars worth of stock making him one of the highest paid executives in the WORLD. There is one pretty BIG catch though-Pichai will have to STAY in the role until at LEAST 2019 to keep the full amount. Not a bad pay out Isabella. The US west coast is dealing with the LARGEST toxic algae infestation ever recorded. Dangerous levels of domoic acid as well as two ADDITIONAL poisons resulting from the algae have already shut down fisheries in California and Oregon. The poison is not dangerous to the algae-eating fish and shellfish but CAN affect humans and animals. Unseasonably high temperatures are being blamed for the unprecedented invasion.The warmer than usual Pacific is being blamed for ANOTHER invasion-this time it_s red tuna crabs San Diego beaches are being overrun by millions of the tiny shellfish much to the amusement of locals. The warmer water is pushing the shellfish and other marine life north from the gulf of California. A warning to residents though: experts are telling those with dreams of a seafood feast to stick to store bought as the tuna crabs COULD contain toxins.And finally we speak a lot about the drought in California but a new study claims that a THIRD of the world_s largest water sources are in danger of depletion. Scientists measure stress levels by comparing how much water is being removed versus how much is replenished. At least EIGHT of the water sources had NO water replenishment whatsoever. So who would you say topped the winner_s list?Well there were plenty of big moments in the 3 hour telecast but one film FLEW high above the rest Birdman came out on top at the 87th Academy Awards Sunday night. The jazzy black comedy cleaned up in the major categories winning Best Picture Best Director Best Cinematography and Best Original Screenplay. Quite a haul During his acceptance speech Mexican director Alejandro Inarritu urged Americans to treat immigrants with the same dignity and respect as those who came before them. Many people thought Birdman star Michael Keaton would go home with the award for Best Actor but no that honor went to Eddie Redmayne for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.Meanwhile Patricia Arquette won Best Supporting Actress for her part in Boyhood. The movie was considered a frontrunner heading into the night but only managed to win one of its six nominations. Arquette made it count by delivering a rousing speech about equality for women in the workplace. Not EVERYTHING was political and heavy handed. Host Neil Patrick Harris did his best to keep the mood light and put his trademark musical talents on display. He also didn_t shy away from taking a few jabs at Hollywood.If we learned anything Sunday night it was that box office success does NOT necessarily translate into luck at the Oscars. Despite making more than 400 million dollars and being nominated in six categories Clint Eastwood_s American Sniper didn_t win ANY awards. Birdman on the other hand will go down as one of the lowest-grossing Oscar winners of all time. All right now let_s take a look at some of the news making headlines today. That includes details on an expanding oil refinery strike in the US. Here is Angie Heyward with a Naked News bulletin.Katherine the strike by the United Steelworkers union has expanded to more refineries over the weekend. In all the union represents 30000 workers at 65 refineries nationwide producing roughly two-thirds of all oil in the US. So this is a significant strike with the potential to get a lost worse. They blame the oil industry for failing to address safety issues through good-faith bargaining. Shell Oil Corporation is leading the negotiations and says they are extremely disappointed with the latest development. Expect to see higher prices at the pump as the strike continues. Officials have regained control of a South Texas prison that had been the site of a massive riot. Inmates set fires and caused significant damage to parts of the Willacy County Correctional Center. The unrest began on Friday when prisoners refused to report for breakfast or work activities in response to poor treatment at the prison_s medical center. Only a few people suffered minor injuries in the riot but MAJOR damage was done to the facility. HUNDREDS of convicts had to be relocated to other prisons while authorities assess the damage. And Americans from Minnesota to Texas are bracing for yet another brutal blast of arctic air. Parts of North Dakota and Minnesota saw wind chills drop to minus-40 on Sunday as the nasty weather system works its way south. Chicago and Boston will see wind chills of twenty below. And if you_re out on the roads in the Dallas-Fort Worth area be careful out there They got hit with 2 inches of sleet and large parts of the Longhorn state are covered in ice If there_s a silver lining to all this nasty weather it_s that it should ease up towards the end of the week I_m Angie Heyward. Sources say Bloomberg will make his decision after the results of the February 1st Iowa caucus. And one of the most powerful media moguls in the world has been ordered to undergo tests to determine his COMPETENCY. 92-year-old Sumner Redstone is the current chairman of Viacom and CBS. According to a lawsuit filed by his ex-lover Manuela Herzer Redstone is a living ghost and is unable to make his own decisions. There_s even MORE speculation now that Apple is trying to develop an electric vehicle. Why do I say that? Because electric-car battery maker A123 Systems has filed a lawsuit against Apple accusing the tech giant of poaching its top engineers to create a rival battery operation of its own. Sources in the auto industry say Apple has been consulting with experts with the goal of learning how to manufacture its own electric car. Apple has yet to respond to the allegations.And meet Miss P who_s now officially the cutest doggy-woggy in the whole wide world. Yes you are YES YOU ARE Sorry. Miss P is a 15-inch beagle from British Columbia and was the recipient of the Best In Show award at the 139th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this week in New York She_s only the second beagle to ever win the honor beating out challengers from six other categories. The move couldn_t come at a better time - it_s estimated that governments lose up to 240 BILLION dollars in tax revenue each YEAR due to tax avoidance. The cliche of stashing your cash in a Swiss bank account to avoid detection is no more 80 banks in Switzerland have agreed to pay the US government 1 point 3 billion dollars in fines for hiding US funds in offshore accounts. The penalties relate to more than 34 thousand accounts holding upwards of 48 BILLION dollars. As part of the deal the banks will avoid prosecution in exchange for cooperating with any future criminal proceedings against the account holders. And investors are giving Facebook_s latest financial report a big LIKE The tech giant announced a profit of 1 point 6 BILLION in the last 3 months of 2015 more than double the same period last year. Most of that money is coming from MOBILE ads which now make up 80 percent of Facebook_s earnings. There are currently 1 point 5-9 BILLION active users on the site with more than a billion users stopping by DAILY. Of course you would be one of those billion Kat you_re ALWAYS on Facebook. Ford Fusion Lincoln MK-Z and Ford Edge SUVs built between 2013 and 2015 account for about 520000 of the recall. In those models the power-assist to the steering wheel can fail making them extremely difficult to drive. Meanwhile a nickel plating issue in the fuel pump of about 50000 Ford Focus Edge Escape and Fiesta models could cause them to stall while driving. Ford will will replace the faulty parts free of charge. And get ready to kiss that double chin goodbye The FDA has just approved Kybella an injectable drug designed specifically to remove neck fat. Kybella contains a compound acid that helps the body absorb fats. Like Botox the treatment can be administered by your physician in just a few minutes and aside from some initial swelling and soreness the side-effects are minimal. It_s been in limbo for months hasn_t it That_s right and there_s a big meeting this week that MAY determine its fate Here_s the story.Execs from Comcast and Time Warner are scheduled to meet with the Department of Justice on Wednesday. The cable companies are hoping to finally get approval for the 45.2 billion dollar merger they announced in February of last year. But to do so they_ll have to convince the DOJ that their combined company won_t give them an unfair advantage in the marketplace. It might not be easy as the merger would give them control of about 40-percent of the broadband industry in the US. Reports surfaced on Friday that the DOJ is planning on blocking the merger. Cirque du Soleil - the world_s largest theatrical production company - has just been sold for 1.5 billion dollars The Canadian performance company founded by Montreal_s Guy Laliberte has been bought by a group of American and Chinese investors. Despite the deal Cirque du Soleil_s headquarters is expected to remain in Montreal. Laliberte will be keeping a ten percent stake in the company.And how_s this for extreme? The highest paid business executive in America is GoPro CEO and founder Nick Woodman The 39-year old raked in a mind-boggling 284.5 million dollars in 2014 after being awarded a package of restricted stock units. That_s some crazy money but you can_t say that Nick didn_t earn his massive paycheck. The surfer-turned-billionaire was key in turning GoPro cameras from a niche gadget into a worldwide electronics giant that_s now worth nearly 6 billion dollars. They_re now the THIRD state in the union to legalize the recreational use of marijuana A new measure that was approved in November took effect Tuesday. It lets people 21 and older carry up to an ounce of pot and own up to six plants. Now that doesn_t mean you can go light one up in public. That_s still strictly off-limits and carries a hundred dollar fine. Regulations for the retail sale of pot are still being ironed out and in Anchorage city organizers are planning an ad campaign on how to safely use the drug.The US Department of Veterans Affairs has been rocked by yet another scandal. Secretary Robert McDonald issued an apology on Monday for lying about having served in an elite special forces unit. The incident occurred last month during an overnight event with homeless vets in LA. McDonald was filmed telling an ex-special ops veteran that he had also been in special forces. He took over as Secretary last summer for retired Army General Eric Shinseki who resigned in the wake of a massive scandal involving poor medical care for VA patients. And the death toll linked to defective General Motors ignition switches has now risen to 57. GM has hired a team of legal experts to compile a list of eligible claims for compensation. Nearly five hundred death claims have been submitted but only the 57 eligible will receive payment. Each approved claim is worth at least one million dollars and so far GM is on the hook for close to one hundred million dollars. The process is far from over. Last year the automaker put aside 400 million dollars to cover the costs of the lawsuits. Don_t go away.

It also has it_s own train system and a 50 seat movie theater. The amusement park rides that gave Neverland its childlike reputation have been removed but fear not the iconic Neverland flower clock has been lovingly restored. Jackson purchased Neverland in 1987 for $19.5 million and moved out in 2005.A Hollywood film producer and real estate developer is building the most expensive property in the world. Situated in L.A.s Bel Air neighborhood the compound will have a 74000 sq foot main house and 3 smaller homes. Some of the features include a 5000-square-foot master bedroom a 30-car garage and a Monaco-style casino and nightclub. Construction is expected to take almost 2 years and it will then be put up for sale. The asking price? 500 MILLION dollars. But 500 million is just a drop in the bucket compared to this NEXT project. A new 100 BILLION dollar super city is being built in Saudi Arabia. Construction on the King Abdullah Economic City began 10 years ago and will eventually be home to 2 million people. Saudi Arabia wants the futuristic port city to become the shipping and manufacturing hub for the Red Sea. The project won_t be fully completed until 2035.Finally you_d expect to find Europe_s tallest building in France or Germany but it_s actually going to be located in the tiny Swiss village of Vals. Designed by famed architect Thom Mayne the 1250 ft luxury hotel and spa will use glass paneling to mirror and blend in with the surrounding mountains. The hotel is slated to open in 2019. Welcome to our very special look back at 2015. I_m Eila Adams and I_m ringing in the new year with Kat Curtis and Carli Bei.Our Person of the Year for 2015 is none other THAN... Mr. Donald J Trump Love him or hate him there_s no denying The Donald was the most-talked about person of the last twelve months. He_s a master at generating headlines and no matter where you looked this year he was causing controversy. He kicked the hype machine into full gear in June by finally doing something he_d been hinting at for YEARS: running for President. The YUUUGE announcement was just one part of a bizarre press conference that saw Trump ramble on about everything from the weak Obama administration to how America was losing to China. But it was his take on Mexican immigrants that drew the most headlines. Trump_s wall comments triggered a YUUUGE backlash amongst left wingers and even became the focal point of a South Park episode. You_d think a statement insulting the 50-plus million Hispanics in the US would be political suicide. I mean just ask Mitt Romney. Spanish language broadcaster Univision quickly announced it would NOT be airing Trump_s Miss Universe beauty pageant. NBC released a statement saying they were ending their business partnership with Trump effectively ending his role on The Apprentice. But then a funny thing happened. Trump surged to the LEAD in the GOP polls. It became clear pretty quickly that he was willing to do and say things that the rest of his Republican opponents - or puppets as Trump called them - would not. His antics and off-the-cuff remarks turned the GOP debates into must-see-TV events. And stodgy candidates like poor Jeb Bush just couldn_t keep up. And when Trump wasn_t tangling with the other candidates he was locking horns with the debate moderators Things got testy when Fox anchor Megyn Kelly brought up his less-than-stellar record in dealing with women. Trump_s supporters loved his take-no-prisoners approach and The Donald wasn_t done there. He repeatedly bullied Kelly on Twitter. Again you_d think alienating 53-percent of your voter base would be a TERRIBLE political move but Trump just kept cruising along. And then guess what happened? NBC came knocking with hat in hand and asked him to HOST SNL So much for the moral high ground. Say what you want about the overall quality of the episode but Trump helped SNL get its highest ratings in years At this point it doesn_t really matter what he says or does people just want to see more of him. He_s in the headlines every day - for better or worse - and that_s certainly helped him in the polls. It_s become the year_s longest-running joke and it kinda reminds me of that old Eddie Murphy bit about voting for Jessie Jackson. That_s right America it_s all fun and games right NOW but be careful what you wish for Now the big question is whether voters in 2016 will say You_re hired 2015 was a YUGE year for Donald Trump and that_s why he_s our choice for Person of the Year For Naked News I_m Isabella Rossini.

EVERYONE wants him out so I have no idea where his mind_s at. Anyway let me get to the Sports set and I_ll explain. Welcome inside my NAKED SPORTS REPORT About two weeks ago FIFA boss Sepp Blatter won his fifth term as President and then announced he_d be stepping down amongst rampant allegations of corruption in the organization. Well how quickly things change. NOW a source close to Blatter has told the media that the 79-year old could once again run for President if no suitable new candidate emerges. FIFA is expected to announce a new President between December and March of next year. A big congratulations goes out to Fabian Gomez The 36-year old golfer from Argentina won his very first PGA Tour title at the St. Jude Classic in Tennessee Gomez shot a 4-under 66 and finished at 13 under on the tournament running away from the field with a 4-stroke lead. It_s been a tough road for Gomez. Last year he had to earn back his tour card. On Sunday he became only the fifth player from Argentina to win a PGA event.Now to a huge upset at UFC 188 in Mexico City. MMA fans were eager for the long-awaited return of Cain Velasquez - the oft-injured fighter many consider to be the greatest heavyweight of his generation. Cain was taking on Fabricio Werdum and struggled BIG time. Werdum bloodied the champ with a number of heavy shots in the second before submitting Velasquez with a guillotine choke in the third. We hope Werdum enjoys the championship while he can. No UFC heavyweight has ever defended the belt more than twice. It was a wet and NOT-so-wild day on the NASCAR track in Michigan. Kurt Busch took advantage of lousy conditions to win his second checkered flag of the season. He was the leader when the race was canceled after just 138 laps due to a heavy downpour. Busch led for only six laps of the race but they just so happened to be the last six Not only that but he did it in his BACKUP car. And Rafael Nadal didn_t have much luck on the clay at the French Open but he kicked ass on the grass at the Mercedes Cup in Germany Nadal beat Viktor Troicki in straight sets to claim his third Mercedes Cup title. Feimster may be best known as a writer on Chelsea Lately but has moved in front of the cameras. This is her third shot at a starring role - she_s had two previous shows that went nowhere.Breaking Bad alum Anna Gunn has joined the female lead opposite Gary Sinise in CBS_s upcoming Criminal Minds spinoff. The series will focus on the FBI division helping American citizens in trouble overseas. The Emmy-winning actress will play Ally Lambert an international law expert and Sinise is Jack Garrett a twenty-year veteran. The pilot will air as a planted spinoff during the main Criminal Minds season before splitting off on its own.HBO has finally greenlit their six-part Lewis And Clark miniseries. It_s been in the works for a while with Casey Affleck as Meriwether Lewis but now that Belgian actor Matthias Schoenaerts has joined as William Clark production can finally begin this summer. It_s set to be a six-part epic about the famous duo_s expedition across the American west. It_s HBO_s biggest miniseries since 2010.And Netflix has released a teaser for Daredevil. Based on the Marvel superhero the series will star Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock a blind lawyer who uses his super-heightened other senses to fight crime in the streets of Hell_s Kitchen. Let_s turn to Isabella Rossini who_s got the results of a 5 year investigation by the European Union. It_s not good news for Google Peyton and it COULD cost the search giant tens of BILLIONS Here_s what_s going on. The competition branch of the European Union is accusing Google of abusing its dominance online. EU officials claim Google favors its own shopping links over those of other online vendors. The case is the result of a five year investigation into Google that was launched following complaints from Microsoft Tripadvisor and many others since 2010. If found guilty of anti-competitive behavior Google could face billions in fines and might have to make major changes to the way it does business in Europe. In other news President Barack Obama has recommended to Congress that Cuba be removed from the U.S. government_s list of state sponsors of terrorism. After the announcement the Cuban government praised Washington for its fair decision to remove them from the controversial list. The designation put Cuba in the same category as serious offenders including Syria and Iran - had been a major sticking point in previous negotiations. And it turns out the US Congress will have a say on the recently agreed-upon nuclear deal between Iran and the White House. A bipartisan bill has been passed in the Senate that will give members of congress the right to reject any final deal with Iran. However President Obama still retains the right to veto their decision. An outline agreement on Iran_s nuclear program was reached earlier this month and delegates have set a June 30th deadline to iron out the details. We_ll be right back
