Women are uploading unretouched pics of their thighs to show that stretch marks and scars aren_t anything to be ashamed of and are perfectly normal. And here_s another example of social media gone RIGHT. This adorable photo of two hugging dogs was put up on Facebook by the Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. The buzz in Toronto TODAY is all about the Olympics. After a stellar Pan Am showcase, many feel the time is right to bring the world_s greatest athletic event to Canada_s largest city. If it_s going to happen for the 2024 games, organizers will need to submit a bid by mid-September. Okay, now for one final Pan Am update we_ll send you over to Carli BeiThanks Eila It was tough luck for the hometown team on the track at the 4 by 100 men_s relay The Canadians looked like favorites to win gold - and it looked like they DID. Instead, they wound up getting disqualified because one of their runners stepped on the line in the first leg. That gave the gold to the US, which they also won on the women_s side. What a way to cap things offAnd the games went out with a real bang on Sunday night in Toronto Thousands of fans packed into the Rogers Centre to bid the athletes a fond farewell, and to party at a star-studded event including the likes of Pitbull and yes, Kanye West. Despite a petition of more than 55-thousand people to keep Kanye from performing, the hip hop star delivered the goods to a raucous crowd. He played 8 songs in 13 minutes, but ironically, his final song was cut short due to a mic problem. I guess organizers didn_t want to let him finish.That_s all I_ve got. Eila do you REALLY know what fish you_re eating? According to a report by the non-profit Oceana organization, probably not. They tested over twelve hundred fish samples at restaurants and food stores and found that over HALF had been mislabeled Nearly sixty percent of tuna wasn_t actually tuna, and snapper, cod, and trout were also frequently misidentified. Sushi restaurants were by far the worst offenders, with nearly three-quarters of them serving mislabeled fish.New York City could become the first in the US to require a SALT warning on restaurant menus. The proposal would require the warning appear next to any menu items that contain more than a teaspoon of salt. That_s the maximum recommended daily amount of sodium. It_s estimated that about ten percent of fast-food menu items would require the label. Excess salt is believed to contribute to heart attacks and strokes.Add General Mills cereals to the list of foods turning away from artificial flavors and colors. The company announced a target of ninety percent of its cereals being free of artificial ingredients by the end of 2016. Among the first to change will be Trix, which will also lose two colors of pieces, as the company couldn_t duplicate the blue and green. It_s a small price to pay, though, as more and more consumers are choosing foods with natural ingredients.Imagine winning a 20 year supply of BACON. It_s possible in Indiana, thanks to the state_s Hoosier Lottery They_re offering two-dollar scratcher cards - which are bacon-SCENTED - with cash prizes up to ten thousand bucks. But there are also five chances for 20 years worth of bacon - paid out in installments, fortunately. The webpage for the lottery is also bacon-centric, with quizzes, recipes, tips, bacon sampling events, and a bacon-cam.And finally, Coca Cola is getting a REVOLUTIONARY new BOTTLE. The PlantBottle is a special plastic made ENTIRELY of renewable plant materials, mainly sugarcane and its manufacturing byproducts. That_s a big change from the usual petroleum-based plastics. The new bottles have a substantially smaller eco-footprint, and are also fully recyclable. The PlantBottles are going to be rolled out over the next few years, across all of Coca-Cola_s beverage brands. Court documents reveal that Ercan Findikoglu hacked American debit card processors to dramatically increase the account balances of pre-paid debit cards. He allegedly then sold the card details to other hacker cells for profit. If found guilty on all 18 counts, Findikoghu could face up to 35 years in a US prison. Italian police are celebrating another big win with the seizure of 1 point 7 BILLION dollars from a Mafia-connected construction firm. Officials allege that the Sicilian builders had been making deals with the Cosa Nostra to secure lucrative public contracts. Mobsters working INSIDE local government were able to influence bidding decisions in the mob_s favor. With drug-trafficking an increasingly competitive market, construction contracts have become a big money-maker for the Sicilian Mafia.And stateside, Time Warner has been ordered to fork over 230 THOUSAND dollars after harassing a customer. The cable giant INUNDATED a Texas woman with 153 telephone calls for another customer_s overdue bills, and STILL kept calling even after she sued them to stop. Time Warner argued that their customer agreement meant that the woman had given consent to be contacted. The Google shakeup shocked the tech world when it was announced earlier this week. Now, everyone wants to know who the NEW guy is. By that we mean Google_s new CEO Sundar Pichai. Unless you_re a hardcore Google fanboy, you probably have no idea who he is. His meteoric rise in the tech company can be summarized in four words: he gets things done. The Indian immigrant joined Google as a lowly product manager in 2004, but that didn_t last long. He came up with the idea for Google_s own web browser - the now uber-popular Google Chrome - and helped lead the charge in cheap laptops, aka netbooks. He also helped launch a few other products you may have heard of, like Gmail and Google Maps. I_d say Google appears to be in pretty good hands. Something else people are talking about on-line is Ruthie Rosemary. She_s quickly becoming the most popular cat on the internet and that_s no easy feat. Ruthie did it by somehow surviving through a recent wildfire in California, for FIVE days Ruthie jumped out of the car as her owners were fleeing town, and everyone imagined the worst. But when they came back a few days later they found her meowing underneath a burned truck Apart from a few adorable singed whiskers, she was perfectly fineNow for the mesmerizing viral vid that_s blowing up online. Deadly Typhoon Soudelor slammed into Taiwan over the weekend on its way toward mainland China. It wreaked all kinds of havoc, including a number of sudden tornadoes - one of which was caught on dashcam, and it_s terrifying. Easily one of the most dramatic tornado videos we_ve ever seen, and thankfully the driver and passenger emerged unscathed. Trending this week on Instagram and Twitter... the Straight Outta Compton meme The NWA-inspired movie_s a hit in theaters AND online, thanks to a handy website called StraightOuttaSomewhere.com. We_ll soon find out if Hollywood feels the same wayBig news for Sons of Anarchy fans: a spinoff could be in the works Creator Kurt Sutter says he_s prepping a potential spinoff focusing on the show_s Mayans Motorcycle Club. In the original series, the Mayans were rivals to the Sons of Anarchy, but the gangs eventually formed an uneasy partnership. Sutter_s keeping tight-lipped on the details, but one thing_s for sure: he certainly has his hands full He_s been busy producing the upcoming FX medieval drama The Bastard Executioner, so who knows when the Sons spinoff will see the light of day. The 90 minute premiere pulled in 10.1 million viewers, easily surpassing the previous record of 7.7 million set by TNT_s Raising The Bar in 2008. Fear will have a six-episode run in season 1, and AMC has already given it the green light for a second season. Speaking of the Walking Dead, season 6 is just around the corner and AMC wants to get us excited for another round of adventures with Rick and the gang. Here_s a preview of what you can expect. What_s going on Nat?The sneaker wars are heating up Madison, and Adidas is going ALL-IN, in its bid to woo the NBA star.I_m guessing if Adidas is involved, Nike can_t be far behind. As a matter of fact, Harden HAD a deal with Nike, but it just expired. Here_s what_s happening. Adidas wants James Harden in a BAD way and they_re willing to pay through the nose to get him. The sneaker company has submitted a 13-year bid worth 200 million dollars to add him to their advertising roster. That roster already includes stars such as Derrick Rose, John Wall, and Andrew Wiggins. Harden_s contract with Nike recently expired, and now Nike will have until the end of next week to match the offer. If it happens, the Adidas contract would make Harden more money than his contract with the Houston Rockets NFL training camp started this week, and just as Houston Texans fans were getting pumped up for a new season, their star running back gets hurt in the very first practice Arian Foster has injured his groin - AGAIN. It seems to happen at some point every season, but THIS year, sources close to Foster believe he_ll need surgery. Early predictions are that he won_t see the playing field until week 8. In other football news, Tom Brady_s Deflategate suspension has had an impact in Vegas. The league_s decision to uphold Brady_s 4-game ban has made the Indianapolis Colts the favorites to win the AFC this year. The Colts - who were the team that brought the Deflategate scandal to the NFL_s attention in the first place - are 8 to 1 to win the conference. But if you think the Patriots are still the team to beat, you_ll never get better value than you will right now. The Super Bowl champs are 10 to 1 to win the conference.Soon the recent FIFA scandal will be commemorated in its very own exhibit... at the Mob Museum The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement in Las Vegas is prepping a new FIFA showcase. It will include pictures, news articles, and original stories from investigators. Curators say it will provide an eye-opening look into the rampant corruption that plagues soccer_s governing body. In May, 9 current and former FIFA officials were indicted for their roles in a 24-year bribery scheme worth 150 million dollars.It_s good to be soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, but it_s also good to be his agent. Ronaldo was the best man at the wedding of agent Jorge Mendes. But rather than getting him golf clubs or a fondue set as a gift, he bought him a GREEK ISLAND. I_m not making this up. The bankrupt Greek government is selling off real estate, and Ronaldo snapped some up for his buddy as a present. No one knows exactly how much he spent, but the islands were priced between 5 and 65 million dollars. Of course, having a contract worth 205 million means Ronaldo can probably afford it. Notorious military prison Guantanamo Bay COULD be closing for good. Congress has REPEATEDLY blocked the White House_s attempts to transfer prisoners to US soil, or to release them back to their home countries. The White House announced on Wednesday that a new bill had been drafted that would give the President authority to move the remaining 116 prisoners and close the facility permanently. Kenya is on a high security alert for President Obama_s visit this weekend. Airspace above the country will close prior to his arrival on Friday, and again when he leaves on Sunday. A ban on aircraft flying lower than 20 thousand feet will also be in effect for the duration of his stay. The security concerns stem from local militant group Al-Shabab, who have terrorized Kenyans with numerous attacks in recent years.And with the 2016 presidential race approaching it_s time for everyone_s LEAST favorite election byproduct: political advertising. Total spending from all parties is expected to reach a record high, surpassing 12 BILLION dollars. That_s a 22 percent increase from the 2012 campaign. The majority of the big bucks will be filtered into TV spots, but there is a new shift into ONLINE campaigning, where just under a billion dollars is expected to be spent.
